NAMI Hampton / Newport News offers training opportunities for volunteers interested in leading our core programs. These trainings, provided by NAMI Virginia, are recognized by our affiliate.
Available Trainings:
- In Our Own Voice Speakers: Help break stigma and promote the welfare of those with mental health conditions in our public speaking program.
- Connections Peer Recovery Group Facilitators: facilitate support groups.
- Family Support Group Facilitators: facilitate support groups.
- Family-to-Family Class Teachers: teach education classes.
- Peer-to-Peer Class Teachers: teach education classes.

- Once an available training is posted:
- Follow the registration instructions provided in the event details.
- If approval is required from the affiliate, then contact us.
- If you don’t see the training you need:
- Don’t worry! We can help you find an online training through another NAMI state organization.
- Contact us to discuss your training needs, and we’ll work with you to arrange participation in an upcoming online session.
